Seven people facing charges in Keystone Heights father beaten to death over a pair of shoes Nearly one year after Stephen Perry was brutally beaten to death over a pair of shoes, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests of two new suspects, bringing the total to seven people.
Alexsandria McNabb Clay County detectives learned that in November 2019, Perry had given Alexsandria McNabb, who was dating Kalvin Roe at the time, shoes for her son. Roe became jealous and made threats to Perry on Facebook Messenger and over text messages. McNabb is charged with accessory after the fact to murder.
Kalvin Roe Kalvin Roe and four other people are charged with murder in Stephen Perry's death. Alexsandria McNabb, Kalvin Roe's girlfriend, helped him flee to Georgia, where he was apprehended by authorities.
Doug Roe Jr. Doug Roe Jr. is charged with murder in Perry's death. He was arrested in Odessa, Texas and was the last of the seven suspects arrested.
Jesse Roe Jesse Roe is charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Most of the suspects are from the Roe family. Clay County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Michael Calhoun describes the Roe family as a “crime family” and says “that’s all they knew.”
Travis Joseph Roe Travis Joseph Roe is charged with murder in the death of Perry. The Roe family is not originally from Florida. They are from New York. A lot of the family members had information pertaining to this case were out of state. Some of them left the state when they found out authorities were investigating.
Augustino Morales Augustino Morales is charged with murder in Perry's death. Perry was found badly beaten on the porch of an unrelated home near the Clay-Putnam County line.
Caleb Evertte Roe Caleb Evertte Roe is charged with murder in Perry's death. Those arrested in Perry's death have been separated -- not all of them are being held in the Clay County Jail. For the safety of correctional officers and people work in the jail, they have been moved to different locations to keep them apart so there’s no problems.
