MIDDLEBURG, Fla. — Clay County Sheriff’s Office wants the public’s help finding a driver responsible for hitting a 20-year-old on a dirt bike in Middleburg on September 13.
The collision left the 20-year-old with severe injuries.
The incident occurred between 3:30-3:50 p.m. at the intersection of Jaymark Lane and Nolan Road, police said.
The victim was riding a mini-bike when the suspect’s vehicle, a red sedan believed to be a Toyota Camry, hit him while he attempted to pass the car.
The suspect got out of their car and asked the victim if they were faking their injuries. When the victim replied, the suspect got back into their car and drove off, taking off south down Nolan Road towards County Road 218.

Police said deputies and detectives responded, have been looking for nearby cameras, but unfortunately haven’t found any yet.
The vehicle should have significant damage to the passenger side front bumper. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid 40s, heavy build, with glasses.
