A Florida man lured a 3-foot alligator from a pond near a Tampa-area KOA campground and beat it with a shovel, a Tampa Bay Times report said.

David Healey, 65, faces charges of illegally capturing an alligator.
The gator was released by Healey after he repeatedly struck it with a shovel, the report said. Healey reportedly used raw chicken and fishing line to lure the gator to land.
Healey was jailed in Pinellas County and held on $2,000 bail.
