Lanes back open after semi-truck turns on its side on I-295 East Beltway northbound

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A semi-truck on its side on Interstate 295 East Beltway near St. Johns Bluff Road shut down northbound lanes for several hours Thursday morning.

The crash happened just after 9 a.m. By noon, the crash was cleared.

The semi-truck was the only vehicle involved in the crash. As the semi was driving northbound on I-295, it traveled onto the shoulder.

The driver, a 35-year-old man from Georgia, tried to get the truck back in a travel lane and then the driver lost control, which caused the semi-truck to overturn and block all lanes, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

There were no reported injuries in this crash.
