SJSO: Jet ski crash north of St. Augustine Inlet injures three

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Update Aug. 24, 4:45 p.m.: The St. Johns County Fire and Rescue Department said the exact details leading up to a jet ski crash that injured three in St. Augustine are unknown, but officials said nearby boaters played a part in helping emergency officials respond quickly to one of the jet skiers who was critically injured.

SJCFRD said good Samaritans in a pontoon boat brought a man who was in cardiac arrest on deck and performed CPR while they brought him to Fire and Rescue officials who were waiting on the shore.

Emergency officials were able to resuscitate the jet skier before he was transferred to the trauma center at Orange Park Medical Center.

A second person sustained non-life threatening injuries and was also transported to a nearby hospital. A third jet skier involved in the accident was treated and released at the scene.
