The St. Augustine Beach Police Department is investigating a report of a possible attempted child abduction.
The Police Department said in a news release the incident happened Wednesday at the St. Johns County Pier Splash Park off State Road A1A.

Investigators said they learned about the incident through several social media posts by parents.
A mother said she was with her 2-year-old daughter when a man who looked to be in his 50s started talking to her, the release said.
Moments later, she said, she heard the girl scream and saw the man attempting to pull her away.

The mother yelled at the man and the man left the splash park.
