St. Augustine group washes clothes for people affected by Hurricane Matthew

Hundreds of people in St. Augustine are putting their washers and dryers to work to help people displaced by Hurricane Matthew.

It began with a post on Facebook, and ended with 200 laundry angels answering the call.

Beth Blizzards said she usually does her own laundry once a week but now she does it daily for complete strangers.

Many of the loads are for people living in the Solomon Calhoun Center because of Hurricane Matthew damage.

In just one day, Blizzards has done about six loads of laundry.

“I have no idea what their circumstances are," Blizzards said. "I just know they need clean clothes.”

She and the angels are hoping others in need will contact them.

To do so, visit their Facebook group.
