Two Navy ships collide during refueling near Naval Station Mayport

Action News Jax is working to learn what caused a U.S. guided missile cruiser and a navy resupply ship to collide near Naval Station Mayport.

The collision happened Tuesday night between the USS Leyte Gulf and the USNS Robert Perry.

An operational unit said the crash happened during refueling.

The ships reportedly have minor damage.

There are no injuries from the collision.
