JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Edgar Lee Macklin was arrested in connection with a murder at a hotel on Philips Highway.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says Macklin and the victim, Lloyd Anthony Williams were friends for several years.
Macklin shot Williams on Sunday after a fight at the Suburban Lodge Extended Stay Hotel on the Southside.
Police do not know what the confrontation was about.
Florida Highway Patrol stopped Macklin for having a headlight out.
After a short car chase, Macklin surrendered to police.
