2-month-old boy beaten to death inside Milwaukee home, police say

MILWAUKEE — A 2-month-old boy was beaten to death Wednesday inside his Milwaukee home, police said.

Police said Jaquerrion Dancer was being held in his mother's arms when the assailant began hitting him and the woman, WISN reported.

"It's a sad thing that kids have to go like that," George Bailey, a neighbor, told WITI. "I can't even imagine, to think about something like that happen to my baby."

The child was badly injured during the beating and was taken to an area hospital, where he died Wednesday night, the television station reported.

"You know, this is her little boy who was born not long ago, a preemie who was fighting and doing well and for her this is a huge tragedy," the Rev. Dan Quakkelaar told WISN.

Police did not say if the man suspected in the assault was the baby's father.
