Julie Hoover was arrested on Tuesday after an 18-year-old student told investigators with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office that she pressured him to drink alcohol, deputies said in a news release. The teen told investigators that Hoover went so far as to put the straw for an alcoholic drink in his mouth.

The incident allegedly happened on April 8, at Point of Grace Christian School’s prom. The same student told investigators that “each time he got onto or even near the dance floor, Julie Hoover came over to where he was dancing and began “twerking” on him (rubbing her buttocks on him).” In the news release, deputies said that the student felt uncomfortable and walked away each time.

Deputies said that they spoke to two witnesses who corroborated the teenager’s story. Those witnesses told investigators they got in between Hoover and the teenager, trying to get her to stop, WCTV reported.

Julie Hoover was previously arrested in June on charges she exchanged sexually explicit text messages with a student, as we reported at the time. The mother of the student contacted detectives after finding the messages between her son and Hoover.

In a statement, a school official told WCTV: “Mrs. Hoover is a former teacher with Point of Grace Christian. We will not provide further information on her employment or departure from our school. The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office informed us of the allegations against Mrs. Hoover, and we have cooperated with the investigation. Out of respect for the judicial process, we will not comment any further at this time.
