Brad Smith was driving on I-5 Monday afternoon when he approached a portion of the freeway where a semi-truck had jackknifed and slowed traffic, KPTV reported.

Smith said he put on his signal and attempted a lane change to get around the standstill when the driver of the car, which had California plates, got upset.

“She’s outraged, she gets out of the car, comes to my driver’s side window, says how dare you cut me off,” Smith told KPTV.

She then started yelling racial slurs at Smith before she hit him in the face and spit at him. Smith and his passenger got out of the truck. The woman then tried to take a swing at the passenger with a knife in her hand. She also stabbed the truck with the knife and scratched the side of it.

Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and the Wilsonville Police Department are asking for help to identify her.
