Glynn County, GA. — The Glynn County Detention Center has 10 inmates who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Ron Corbett, undersheriff of the Glynn County Sheriff’s office, stated “This is the highest number of COVID positive tests we have had since the onset of COVID- 19.″
When asked what the protocol for incoming inmates is, Corbett said they are asked questions relating to his/her health and if they have come in contact with a person who has COVID-19.
Based on how they answer those questions determines where they are placed in the detention center.
Corbett stated, “If an inmate has some of the common symptoms associated with the virus or if he/she has been in close contact with someone who is COVID positive, the inmate will be placed in a housing area and quarantined from the general population. If the inmate has no symptoms or has had no contact with anyone known to be positive or someone with known symptoms, the inmate will be placed in general population.”
In addition to all of this the inmate’s temperature is checked when they first enter the detention center.
