ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. — The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office announced that Detention Sergeant Rickey Mayes was found dead in his home Sunday.
Mayes served the Sheriff’s Office since 2008, and was promoted to sergeant in 2016. He also served over 30 years in the Army Reserve.
