Jacksonville, FL — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is working to identify a man found dead Saturday afternoon at Pope Duval Park off West Beaver Street.
Sgt. Steve Rudlaff said an FWC officer called JSO to report an abandoned vehicle around 2pm. When JSO arrived, they found a the body of a man in his 60′s or 70′s on the edge of a pond. Sgt. Rudlaff said the man had been shot several times, and may have been in the water 24-36 hours.
Investigators are processing evidence now. Anyone with information is asked to call JSO at (904) 630-0500.
