JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two Duval County Public School employees have been arrested and reassigned to positions that have no relationship with students.

According to the district, the charges appear to have no relationship to their duties at their schools.

Demetrius Williams was arrested Friday by the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office. She started her career at Raines High School as a coach then transitioned to a paraprofessional role in 2010. Williams was terminated in 2012 for job abandonment then rehired in 2017 as a paraprofessional at the Palm Avenue Exceptional Center, then moved to First Coast High School in July.

Another employee arrested was Pierre Jean Louis. Louis was arrested Friday by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. He started his career with DCPS in 2017 at Garden City Elementary School, then he worked itinerant assignments at multiple schools towards the end of September, including Loretto Elementary, Mandarin Oaks, and Greenland Pines.

Action News Jax is working to get more information on the details of Williams' and Louis' arrests and will have the latest in a LIVE report on CBS47 & FOX30 Action News Jax at 5.
