Vigil held for beloved teacher found dead

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A candlelight vigil for Atlantic Coast High School teacher Vivian James took place Sunday, Jan. 5 at 5 p.m. at Friendship Fountain in Jacksonville.

Those who attended were asked to bring a candle and wear purple for James, according to James’ God sister.

Action News Jax reported on Saturday, Dec. 28 when a woman was found dead inside her home in the Cedar Hills area.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said foul play is suspected and they’re investigating James’ death as a homicide.

A tribute video has been posted to Atlantic Coast High School’s TV Production YouTube account.
