JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars put on shoulder pads for the first time in their 2014 Training Camp on Sunday.
The extra padding led to some extra physical play. There were three different altercations between teammates.
“ It got a little heated,” said Gus Bradley. “That’s good, when you love each other there are going to be some battles, right? I guess that’s the way to look at it.”
Defensive tackle Tyson Alualu and tight end Clay Harbor had the most serious exchange that included a couple of swings.
Later on in the session, big defensive lineman Red Bryant and guard Zane Beadles mixed it up during one on one’s. In the same drill, offensive lineman Patrick Lewis and defensive lineman DeAndre Coleman also had a heated exchange.
As for the practice, Denard Robinson had an impressive catch and other highlights included interceptions from Will Blackmon and linebacker Geno Hayes.
There were more than 1,200 fans at the Sunday morning practice. On Monday night, the Jags will practice at Bartram Trail High School.
“It’s like Monday Night Football,” said Bradley.
