Jacksonville Humane Society sustains no-kill status thanks to the community

Jacksonville, FL. — The Jacksonville Humane Society as well as Animal Care and Protective Services, are proud to announce that the City of Jacksonville has earned no-kill designation for 2020.

According to Best Friends Animal Society, “A no-kill community is a city or town in which every brick-and-mortar shelter serving and/or located within that community has reached a 90% save rate or higher and adheres to the no-kill philosophy, saving every animal who can be saved.

The city wide save rate is 93%.

Many attribute the adoption rates soaring due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Jacksonville Humane Society has decided to introduce a new naming opportunity for the community.

Individuals or businesses can make a donation to have their name placed on a dog or cat kennel throughout the year.

Kennels can also be sponsored in honor or in memory of a loved one, including pets.
