JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News has learned hundreds of local seniors may lose their free bus ride.

Right now, everyone 60 and up is exempt from paying the $1.50 fare.

A new proposal from the Jacksonville Transportation Authority would raise the age for a free ride to 65.

However, riders could be grandfathered in to the free pass by getting a Star Card.

There will be several public hearings on the change starting Monday.
