An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing 5-year-old Florida girl in Madison County.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Naomi Herring was last seen asleep in a motel room at Deerwood Inn on St. Augustine Road in Madison at around 12:30 a.m. Deputies said she was in the room with another child and in the care of a man.
Deputies said at 1:40 a.m., the mother returned to the room and “found the room door to be closed but unlocked.” The man and the other child were inside sleeping, but Herring was not, MCSO stated.
“The surrounding area is still currently being searched by multiple deputies along with the Canine tracking team from the Florida Department of Corrections (Madison Unit),” MCSO said.

Herring is described as 3 feet tall and weighs 35 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black and yellow bumble bee dress and blue shorts, deputies said.
