Bobbi Kristina Brown dies at age 22

Lifetime

ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News has learned Bobbi Kristina Brown, 22, daughter of the late Whitney Houston, has died.

Her aunt, Pat Houston, told Channel 2 Action News in a statement:

"Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family.  She is finally at peace in the arms of God.  We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months."

Bobbi Kristina was moved to hospice care last month after months of being in the hospital.

Brown was found face down in a bathtub at her Roswell home in early February.

Brown's boyfriend and another friend told police they found her in the bathtub and started CPR. Police took over life-saving measures until rescue crews arrived.

Brown was taken to North Fulton Hospital and was eventually taken to Emory University Hospital, where she spent months.

Brown was eventually moved to a private recovery facility.

Pat Houston said in a statement last month that Brown's "condition has continued to deteriorate."

The statement said the Houston family thanks "everyone for their support and prayers," adding, "She is in God's hands now."

Brown's mother, Whitney Houston, was found in a similar situation nearly three years ago. Houston drowned in a hotel bathtub. An autopsy found that cocaine and heart disease played a part in her death.
