JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The City of Jacksonville Office of Sustainability and local environmental partners have issued a call for artists for the eARTh Inspired Gallery & Resource Café, a pop-up event running Oct. 5-9.
The weeklong exhibition will coincide with Florida Climate Week, bringing together environmental art, community exhibits and resources for local sustainability efforts.
Organizers presenting the event include the City of Jacksonville Office of Sustainability, St. Johns Riverkeeper, Jax Climate Coalition and The Jessie, with support from the VoLo Foundation.

The call for submissions is open to local artists in Jacksonville and surrounding areas, with preference given to residents living within the city. Organizers welcome creative interpretations in any medium, including film, painting, photography, written poetry, sculpture, clothing and video art.
Submissions may focus on themes of Earth, sustainability, stewardship, water and nature, using either new work or existing portfolio pieces.

There is no fee for artists to participate in the exhibition. Accepted artists will receive an honorarium and attendees will vote throughout the week for a People’s Choice award recipient.
Participating artists may sell their artwork at the exhibit. Artists are responsible for supplying their own display equipment, such as easels, pedestals or projectors and must handle shipping or delivery of any sold artwork to buyers.

The gallery will feature a full schedule of daily activities and special events and will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., alongside a coffee pop-up operating from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Official programming opens Monday, Oct. 5, with a kickoff event starting at 11:30 a.m. and formal remarks at 12 p.m.
On Wednesday, Oct. 7, the venue will host Cocktails & Conversation during the First Wednesday Art Walk from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., followed by an Intersection of Art and Activism panel at 7 p.m.
Programming concludes Friday, Oct. 9, with a 6 p.m. screening of the film “City in a Forest,” which includes a live score and panel discussion.
