Camden County parents are demanding answers about their children's safety when riding the school bus.
In cell video there are at least five students standing at the bus’s door before it comes to a stop.
Action News Jax was told that administrators are investigating the incident.
Ashley Tilton took the cellphone video while she was waiting for her two children to get off the school bus.
“I’d never thought I’d see what I saw,” Tilton said.
As the bus was coming down the road, elementary school students were screaming out the windows.
Tilton said this was alarming to see.
“Children in the seats were not even sitting. They were standing, yelling out the window. It was a concern,” Tilton said.

When the bus came to a halt, children were standing with their hands pressed up against the door waiting to get off.
“There were children sitting and standing on the steps before the driver even stopped the bus,” Tilton said.
Action News Jax showed other parents the video to see what they thought about it.
“Why would they be standing when the bus is in motion? That’s not good at all,” parent Tameshia Butler said.
Another parent said she would consider home-schooling her child.

“That’s just scary to even think about as a mother,” Phyllis Downing said.
Tilton said it is a safety violation and worries that someone could get hurt.
“It’s a huge concern and parents should not have to fear for the safety of their children,” Tilton said.
I just spoke with a 3rd grader who rides the bus and she said that the bus driver lets other kids open the door. She also said that students always stand on the seats and sit on the steps @ActionNewsJax https://t.co/nHn4WQxyn0

Tilton said she went to the school district, transportation office and the police department to try to get someone held accountable.
Action News Jax reached out to the Kingsland Police Department for the report and was told that it could take a couple of days to get that information.
