Car of South Carolina man reported missing in 2015 found in Clay County, deputies say

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the car of a South Carolina man reported missing over three years ago has been recovered.

Wallace "Buster" Gerrald was reported missing in October of 2015 to the Palatka Police Department.

Deputies said the vehicle was found in a heavily wooded and secluded area in Green Cove Springs.

The area was was privately owned and the landowners did not live there and rarely visit the property.

Action News Jax reported the man's disappearance in 2015 when police asked for the public's help in locating Gerrald who was last seen in Palatka after traveling from Horry County, South Carolina to the city to obtain legal documents.

He was 85 years old at the time.

Deputies said Gerrald has never been located.
