JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary is saying farewell to a 17-year-old lion who passed away on Thursday.
Freddy, also known as King Freddy, was born with a birth defect that made mobility difficult for him.

Despite this, Executive Director Curt LoGiudice said, “He didn’t know he had a disability and lived his best life every day.”
As Freddy got older, his condition deteriorated until he eventually succumbed to his illness.
“His roar has faded away but lives on in our hearts and the hearts of everyone who came to see King Freddy,” LoGiudice said.
