GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — Crews are working to clean up oil in the St. Simon sound after personnel separated another section of the Golden Ray wreckage Thursday morning.
It’s been nearly two years since the Golden Ray capsized in the St. Simons Sound.
On Thursday, wreck removal personnel cut and separated section three from the remainder of the wreck.
Thursday’s operation created concern as oil was observed from the vessel and outside the environmental protection barrier. Unified command crews are working to cleanup the oil.
