Coast Guard searching for missing boater; crews found boat

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — The U.S. Coast Guard confirms it is assisting in the search for an overdue boater on the St. Marys River at a ramp near Kingsland.

The boater, a 55-year-old man, was traveling in a 16-foot boat.

The boater was reported missing at about 7 p.m. Monday. Officials have not released the name of the boater because some of his family hasn’t been notified.

Officials said the boat was found, but the boater is still missing.
