Confirmed case of measles in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville child has contracted measles, according to the Florida Department of Health.

The Florida Department of Health says the child who caught the disease was not vaccinated.

The agency in not providing information on where the child went to school.

The agency says the medical community in the area was warned to be watchful of rash like illnesses in patients.

The Department of Health says those who had routine shots or had the disease in the past are immune.
