Crews put out a fire that was likely caused by lightning in Ponte Vedra Beach on Monday.
St. Johns County Fire Rescue said smoke was coming from the home on Ponte Vedra Boulevard when crews got there.
A witness said he saw a big bolt of lightning then smoke coming from the home.
Fire rescue crews put out a fire in the attic and cut a small hole in the roof to help ventilate heat and smoke.
The roof, attic and part of a bathroom on the second floor of the home were damaged by fire, St. Johns County Fire Rescue said.
