GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — Clay County Emergency Management and Florida Forest Service Jacksonville are responding to a brush fire in Green Cove Springs.

The fire is near the 3000 block of Russell Road, the Clay County Sheriff's Office said.
Motorists are asked to use caution when in the area due to low visibility from smoke, along with fire/rescue crews on scene.

Clay County Emergency Management said the fire is 80% contained and the fire is believed to have been started by a lightning strike.
Clay County Fire Rescue in partnership with @FLForestService is working a woods fire near Watkins road and is about 80% contained. It appears to have been caused by a lightning strike.
