JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - UPDATE: A woman has died following a crash on the Buckman Bridge Thursday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers identified the woman as Rashelle Shiloah Kirsch, 27, of Middleburg.
The woman was driving a Chevy Tahoe southbound on I-295 in the outside lane of the bridge and for unknown reasons lost control -- traveling across all lanes and striking a barrier wall, FHP said.
The woman was taken to Orange Park Medical Center where she later died.
Drivers experienced heavy delays in the area as crews investigated.
Authorities said Kirsch was not wearing a seatbelt. All lanes have since reopened.
Kirsch was an employee at Black Creek Veterinary Hospital. The hospital sent Action News Jax the following statement:
"Black Creek Veterinary Hospital and staff are deeply saddened by the news of Rashelle's sudden passing this morning. She was a member of our work family for many years, we send our thoughts and prayers to her friends and family during this difficult time."
If you're going over the Buckman Bridge, you will need to give yourself extra time for your morning commute.
