Diaper need soars among families reeling from COVID’s economic pinch

Jacksonville, FL. — Crystal Parks is founder and president of the Diaper Bank for Northeast Florida.

She tells Action News Jax she and the agencies she partners with have upped their diaper distribution by three times since October.

Crystal Parks says at any given time, the shelves holding her diapers could go empty from just one month’s distribution.

The Diaper Bank has given out over 11,000 diapers since October, and is expecting to hand out around 2,000 next month.

The Diaper Bank for Northeast Florida partners with five outreach agencies: Community Health Outreach, Gateway Steps to Recovery, Family Promise of Jacksonville, The National Doula Network, and the Cloth Option.

Diapers are distributed through the help of those agencies on the first Friday of each month.

Parks tells Action News Jax their most requested sizes are for newborns and toddlers.
