3 shot at party during recording of a music video in Jacksonville, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Three people are expected to recover after being shot at a party Thursday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

Officers responded to gunfire just after 11 p.m. in the 1500 block of 35th Street West on Jacksonville’s Northside, after a report from ShotSpotter, a gunshot detector system, alerted them.

While on the way to the area, an off-duty officer that was working at a hospital said that two men and a woman walked into the emergency room with gunshot wounds.

Police said they are expected to be OK. The shooting scene was then secured by police.

Detectives are investigating the incident, but at this time, there is no information regarding a suspect.

The shooting happened in the street, the sheriff’s office said, but it is unknown if it was a drive-by shooting.

A witness told police that there was a party and a music video was being recorded.
