Man faces murder charge after fatal stabbing in Jacksonville, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has announced that an arrest has been made following a murder on Lexington Avenue.

Police said they received a 911 call about the incident Saturday night and when officers arrived at 10 p.m., JSO said they found a 46-year-old man who had been fatally stabbed in the chest.

Homicide Unit Detectives responded and began an investigation. “Detectives learned early on that the victim and suspect became involved in a verbal dispute that lead to the stabbing of the victim,” the sheriff’s office stated.

Police identified the suspect as Brandon Williamson, 33.  Officers said he was detained at the crime scene and was later taken into custody for an interview.

After the interview, JSO arrested Williamson who faces a second-degree murder charge.
