A colonoscopy is the gold standard for detecting the potentially deadly cancer. It is offered for those 45 and older, and typically covered by insurance.

However, there’s 45 million people who go unscreened each year, according to Any Lab Test Now owner Randi Beesing. Her business offers an option for those who are uninsured or underinsured.

“It’s a 94% accurate test,” Beesing said. “It’s a simple blood draw. People can come and be in and out in 15 minutes.”

You’ll get your results in 10 days.

“If they’re positive, [the test] actually has a medical team that will contact them, give them the information, let them know what they should do with their test results--in terms of seeking medical advice, finding a doctor,” Beesing said.

The test is $379, compared to a colonoscopy that is between $1,000 and $3,153, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
