21-year-old motorcyclist dies after crashing off side of bridge

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 21-year-old Patrick Stellitano died after he crashed his motorcycle and went off the side of Nichols Creek Bridge on Heckscher Drive Saturday afternoon.

FHP said the driver of the motorcycle traveled onto the shoulder of the road and hit a concrete barrier wall before going off the side of the bridge.

Marine units were sent to search and the driver was eventually located. The injuries from the crash were fatal.

Heckscher Drive is back open.
