JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Former Jacksonville Sheriff Nat Glover will be inducted into the Florida Law Enforcement Officer’s Hall of Fame 2021, the FDLE tells Action News Jax.

The River City native made history in 1995 when he was elected to lead the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, becoming the first African American sheriff elected in Florida in the 20th century.

Glover later served as president of his alma mater, Edward Waters College, for seven years before his retirement in 2018.
