Black History Month: “It feels really great!”: Local teen CEO selected to share story, products nationwide

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A young teenager turned her hobby into a successful business that she will soon be able to share with millions.

Action News Jax’s Courtney Cole introduces us to Christianna Alexander, the founder of Sweet Christi’s — a soap and body product company thriving during the pandemic.

“Starting at the age of 12, I always wanted to start my own business because I saw my parents running theirs,” Alexander explained.

Now, the ambitious teenager has three years of a successful bath and body company, under her belt.

Sweet Christi’s, as its name may tell you, includes sweet treats that look and smell sweet enough to eat — but they’re actually soaps, body butter, and scrubs.

“I’m just thankful for my mom, my dad, and everybody else; my family, the rest of my friends just to help me get this far. It feels really great!” Alexander said with excitement.

The best is yet to come from this girl boss! Alexander is going to share her story and her products with millions on QVC and HSN on Friday, Feb. 26 at 12:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. ET on QVC, and at 1:55 p.m. and 10:55 p.m. ET on HSN.

She has been selected for Qurate Retail Group’s Small Business Spotlight, a collaboration with the National Retail Federation to give more opportunities to small businesses and underrepresented groups.

Zulily is promoting the campaign on its website, email and social media.

Alexander can also depend on Qurate Retail Group team members for business advice through a virtual mentoring initiative. QVC US, HSN and Zulily reach more than 90 million homes in the U.S. via broadcast channels, and millions more via digital and social platforms.

“I was so stoked and excited! I can’t wait to be on air!” Alexander exclaimed.

In a time where businesses are struggling, she hopes her products can help provide some comfort for all that extra time we’re spending at home.
