Fire breaks out at Jacksonville restaurant

DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — Crews are working to learn the cause of a fire that broke out at a Jacksonville restaurant Wednesday morning.

Pictures shared online by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department show the aftermath of the fire at Uncle Gene’s Soul & Seafood.

Firefighters first responded to the restaurant on Timuquana Road just before 9 a.m.

Crews searched the building and no one was inside. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The State Fire Marshal has been requested.
