JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville’s gas tax increase, which raises the city’s 6 cent tax on gas per gallon to 12 cents, officially went into effect on Jan. 1.
The increase was approved by the Jacksonville City Council to help pay for over 70 infrastructure projects, and will help free up cash to pay for septic tank removals.
