Jacksonville man pops up on Brianna Williams’ evidence list

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Day care records, surveillance video, and phone records of family members and a man named Dalton Roberts are all included in the state’s evidence list in the case against Brianna Williams.

FLORIDA AMBER ALERT: Timeline of events in disappearance of Jacksonville girl Taylor Williams

It’s the first time we’ve seen the name Dalton Roberts pop up, and we’ve learned that he’s the only person named in the documents who isn’t related to the family.

Action News Jax got ahold of Roberts on Thursday.

He tells Action News Jax that he met Williams in July while on a run near the Winston Family YMCA in Brooklyn.

That’s about four months before Williams reported her 5-year-old daughter Taylor missing.

Roberts says he really didn’t know her that well, only working out with her a few times after they met.

He says he last spoke to Williams a month before she first reported Taylor missing.

According to the list of evidence, police got a search warrant for Roberts’ phone on Nov. 10, four days after Williams reported Taylor missing.

Roberts’ work schedule and GPS data is also listed from Oct. 21 to Nov. 6.

He says he never met the 5-year-old girl, but he says Williams told him that Taylor had been staying with her grandparents.

That was a statement he says he didn’t think twice about, since he knew Brianna Williams was in the Navy.

It’s important to note that Brianna Williams is not charged with her daughter’s death. As of right now, she is facing charges for child neglect and lying to police.

She’s due back in court Feb. 4.
