JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — UPDATE | 4/13/2021 12:30 A.M.:
A male in his 20′s was shot dead after a fight broke out at the Blue Store Discount gas station on 103rd street Monday night, according to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said, the victim drove up to the gas station, a fight broke out, the victim was shot then died shortly after the first officers arrived on scene.
A sergeant with the Jacksonville Homicide Unit said he believes this shooting happened during a drug deal.
One witness who was inside the gas station at the time of the shooting said she heard 10 or more gunshots, ducked, then ran to the bathroom for cover.
There were approximately five people inside the store at the time, and they have been interviewed by JSO for witness information.
Investigators have no suspect information right now but believe the suspect either ran away from the scene or jumped into a car and rode off.
They also believe there was only one victim, and one suspect involved.
JSO is currently reviewing video surveillance and searching for any possible leads.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a homicide in the Jacksonville Heights neighborhood.
JSO has taped off the Blue Store Discount gas station at 103rd Street and Rockola Road.
Investigators are very active on scene, photographing a silver car parked at a gas pump, with evidence markers around the car.
We are expecting an update from JSO at 11:30 p.m.
