JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —
According to JSO, the victim was driving west on Dunn Avenue when a suspect apparently pulled up and shot “several” times at the victim, causing him to crash.
However, police said they do not have any suspect information at the time.
Dunn Avenue was shut down for several hours while police investigated the scene.
Officials said the victim was an adult black male.
According to JSO, there were no other cars in the area that were hit by gunfire.
Officers were looking for surveillance footage.
Robert Perry lives across the street.
”I heard a big loud noise. Didn’t know what was happening until I saw all the traffic out here,” he told Action News Jax reporter Robert Grant. “The whole front end is crashed. Airbags are deployed. It’s up in that tree over there.”
A white sedan was smashed into a tree off the side of Dunn Ave.
JSO asks anyone with information contact 904-630-0500, email jsocrimetips@jaxsheriff.org or call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
