JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman was taken to a hospital after police said a driver opened fire on her vehicle as she drove on Jacksonville’s Eastside.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The woman told police she was driving northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway when another driver, traveling in the same direction, began shooting at her, before taking off.
The woman got out of her bullet-riddled vehicle and walked down Winthrop Street and called police. JSO said she had been shot twice in the back.

She was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a dark-colored four-door car.
JSO is working to learn what led to the shooting.
