LifeSouth faces an emergency need for blood donations

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — LifeSouth, a nonprofit community blood bank, has an emergency need for donors after facing a shortage in blood supply.

While donations have declined, the severe winter weather impacting the country has increased the need for blood donors.

LifeSouth asks that blood donors please consider donating blood during a LifeSouth blood drive. Blood donors with type O positive are especially needed.

Every donor will receive a wellness screening while every donation will be tested for COVID-19 antibodies.

Saturday, February 20:

Turner Ace Hardware — Marsh Landing — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

O’Reilly Auto Parts — Callahan — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, February 21:

Adamec Harley Davidson — Baymeadows Road — 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Petsmart — Wells Road in Orange Park — 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Home Depot — Fleming Island — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
