Mandarin: Man found dead at apartment complex, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was found dead at The Waterford at Mandarin apartment complex at 11247 San Jose Boulevard Saturday, police say.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office received a complain of a discharged gun early Saturday. Officers searched the property but were not able to initially locate any signs of a shooting.

Approximately 40 minutes later, Jacksonville Fire Rescue was also dispatched to the apartment complex. A black man, between 20 and 25 years old, was found dead inside an apartment, JSO says.

Police say they do not know what type of injuries the man died of.

Detectives are asking people living in the area to review their surveillance video from 1:45 a.m. to 3 a.m. to determine if they can see anyone suspicious.
