Only on Action News Jax: San Marco Barbershop broken into, TV stolen

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

Someone used a brick to smash the front window of the Wolf and Tonic Barbershop on San Marco Boulevard and got away with a TV that had been mounted inside.

The owner of the 1930s-themed barbershop, Jonathan Rodriguez, said he was traveling out of town for business but was alerted to the damage this morning.

“I got word this morning from a passerby that my building was wide open — my window was busted wide open,” he said. “And it totally just dropped my heart to hear that.”

Today, Action News Jax found a cleanup effort underway as the business welcomed guests.

Master barber, Keith Tisdale, saw the remnants of the smash-and-grab this morning.

“There was glass everywhere,” said Tisdale.

Rodriguez said he never thought something like this would happen in San Marco.

“Honestly, I have no idea why someone would do this,” he said. “I understand times are hard around the holidays. But it’s just certain areas, you know, that I kind of felt like were more secure.”

He said there’s no surveillance video of the incident, and he’s filed a police report. He’s grateful no one was hurt and that the business can stay open.

“As of right now, I just cannot understand why someone would do this,” said Rodriguez.
