Mandarin family robbed by suspect posing as a delivery driver

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — It was a terrifying night for one Beauclerc family that has also left their entire neighborhood on edge. Someone posing as a delivery man held the family at gunpoint and robbed them of tens of thousands of dollars.

“I didn’t sleep at all last night,” says neighbor Grace Donovan. In fact, she left an Amazon delivery on her porch for hours because she was afraid to open the door. “When the doorbell rang this morning,” she says, “I wouldn’t even come out to get the package.”

That’s because a few houses down, her neighbor’s home was the center of a crime scene. Detectives canvassed the area the following morning.

According to the police report, a man rang the family’s doorbell last night around 8 p.m. He was wearing a neon, reflective vest and had a package, asking for help finding a delivery address. When the family opened the door, they told Action News Jax off-camera, he pulled a gun on them.

The report says he corralled them in the bathroom while another man came in with gloves and his face covered. “That’s awful,” says the neighbor across the street. “I hope they don’t come to my house.”

The robbers took $35,000 worth of jewelry, cash, and other items. JSO hasn’t said whether they have any suspects, but until someone is in custody neighbors say they won’t get a good night’s sleep.

“The most important thing is that they’re OK, but the whole neighborhood is shaken up,” says Donovan.
