JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man who came to the Caroline Square Apartments to visit a relative was shot several times Monday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police say they received a call just after 11 a.m. about a person that had been shot at the complex located on Ft. Caroline Road.

When officers arrived, they found the 28-year-old man in his car.
JSO said someone approached his car when he arrived to the complex and shot him several times.
He was taken to a hospital in life-threatening condition and is in surgery, Lt. D. Hall with JSO, said. There is no suspect information at this time.

JSO said it is believed that the two knew each other and that there is no threat to the community.
The investigation is ongoing.
